SY-103 PHENOLIC RESIN

DESCRIPTION       SY-103 Phenolic Resin is an alkylphenol-modified, oil-soluble, heat-reactive phenolic resin.

APPLICTIONS       SY-103 Phenolic Resin is mainly used in the formulation of general-purpose and heat-activated neoprene-based contact cements. It is also used in the formulation of adhesives with NBR, SBR, natural and reclaimed rubbers. The outstanding feature of this resin is its extremely light color. The resin may be milled directly into rubber stocks or, in the case of adhesives, mixed directly into the solution.

In the specific case of neoprene contact cements, SY-103 Phenolic Resin extends tack life, increases the specific adhesion of the film to metal and glass, and increases the cohesive strength of the adhesive film itself.
